Estimate Your 2011 Property Taxes!
City of Nanaimo Releases Property Tax Estimator!
By now you should have recieved your 2011 Nanaimo Property Tax assessment in the mail. If you're like me, your first question was "how much did the property value change?" (keeping in mind this has very little reflection on the actual value of your home). My second thought was also "how much will my property taxes be this year?" This we must wait to find out. Until NOW! The City of Nanaimo just released a Property Tax Estimator on its website. You simply input your 2010 assessed value, your 2011 assessed value and VOILA! you get an estimate of your 2011 property taxes similar to this example for a friend of mine's house:

The city has a few minor disclaimers but I'd bet this will be accurate enough for those planning types. I hope you find it helpful!
